1. Introduction

Hangar Academy LLC ('we', 'us' or 'our') operates hangaracademy.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: your email address and a password, which is stored in hashed form by our authentication provider. If you sign in with LinkedIn instead, LinkedIn shares your name, email address and profile photo with us, and we don't receive your LinkedIn password. Learning data: the courses you purchase, your quiz and mock exam results, and related study activity. Technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic request information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting. We do not ask for your name, mailing address or phone number. If you contact us by email, we keep that correspondence so we can respond.

3. Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. You enter your card details directly with Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number. Stripe shares limited details with us, such as your email address, the purchase amount and whether the payment succeeded, so we can unlock your course. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by its privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to create and secure your account, give you access to courses you have purchased, save and show your quiz results, send account emails (such as email confirmation, password resets and notices of material changes to our terms or this policy), respond to support requests, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not send marketing emails unless you choose to receive them.

5. Cookies and Analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and manage your session. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and how people arrive. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and collects information such as your device, browser, approximate location and pages visited; it does not give us your name or email address. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics stays off until you accept it in the cookie banner. Anyone can turn analytics on or off at any time with "Cookie settings" in the site footer. You can also opt out with Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or by blocking cookies in your browser. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.

6. Who We Share Information With

We share information only with service providers that help us run the platform, each under its own privacy policy: Supabase (database and login), LinkedIn (optional sign-in), Stripe (payments), Vercel (website hosting) and Google Analytics (site usage statistics). We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the platform. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Affiliate Links

Some pages contain affiliate links to Amazon and other retailers. If you click one, that retailer may set cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy. We receive commission reports from these programs, but not your personal information.

8. Data Storage and Security

Account and learning data is stored with Supabase, and the site is hosted by Vercel; both are based in the United States. We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and row-level security on user data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects your personal data, as required by law.

9. Data Retention

We keep your account and learning data while your account is active, so your purchases and quiz history stay available. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax or accounting reasons, such as purchase records.

10. Your Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and you can opt out of analytics as described above. Depending on where you live, such as California or the European Economic Area, you may have additional rights under local law. To make a request, email support@hangaracademy.com from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days and will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

11. Children's Privacy

Accounts are for people 18 and older, and the platform is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact support@hangaracademy.com and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the 'Last updated' date above and notify account holders of material changes by email.
